This is the ideal time for exploring the area, so if you have family here, come visit them during the Fall season, and savor the many wonderful local tastes of the season and enjoy Fall Lancaster PA activities.  If you are a local, indulge in a Fall weekend gateway and create beautiful memories with your loved one.

So what is there to do in Lancaster in the Fall?  There is certainly something for everyone to do in Lancaster this Fall – here are some ideas:

If you are looking for family fun, visiting local farms and playgrounds during the Fall is a must, such as the Oregon Dairy and Cherry Hill Orchard.  Cherry Hill is also great for apple and pumpkin picking.  Spend all day exploring the corn maze, including Flashlight Maze on weekends, pumpkin picking, and engaging in other fun activities at the Cherry Crest Adventure Farm.

Happy Hauntings at Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park awaits you and your kids with over 30 themed, non-scary rides, special entertainment, tasty treats, and the safe, interactive Trick-or-Treat Trail.  Open select weekends in October, Halloween costumes are welcome.

For a more serene experience, explore the picturesque rural Lancaster County; you are bound to see Amish men on carts full of harvested corn alongside the country roads lined with colorful flowers.  Visit one of the abundant farms of the PA Dutch country and feel the quiet beauty of the rolling hills – it’s truly magical, especially in the Fall.

If you are planning a getaway with your partner, you will both love discovering all the lovely treasures of the harvest season in Lancaster County, the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country.  Something fun and romantic is taking the tour of the more than two dozen covered bridges in the area, also referred to as “kissing bridges” – since many couples have strolled across them over the years.

These architectural attractions each has its own story, some very fascinating – visit them by foot, scooter or bike that you can rent locally.

Take a stroll in the historic Lancaster downtown, and explore its many galleries, museums, and shops.  You can have an unforgettable date in one of town’s many restaurants and bars.  Plan a visit to other neighboring towns and villages, such as Lititz – a charming, vibrant and quaint, small town that feels like you are in a bygone era.

Stop by the Chocolate Factory – nothing like chocolate to enthrall the lovers!

If you are in Lancaster on a business trip, enhance your stay with partaking in some local activities and scenes.  Take in the natural beauty of the rolling hills of Lancaster County and surrounding towns with electric bike rides.  Choose your destination and one of the themed rides of varying distances, all with stops at some of Lancaster County’s most treasured markets, cafes, shops, and attractions.

Join Oktoberfest and celebrate German food, beer, music, song & dance with Lancaster County locals and other visitors.  There are a few different fests you can be part of, such as Liederkranz – Lancaster’s oldest, traditional Oktoberfest, or Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire Oktoberfest.  If you would like to experience the colorful Fall foliage of Lancaster County from above – Smoketown Helicopter Tours will give you an amazing perspective, the First Flight Tour to the See It All Tour.

Finally, whether you are visiting as a family, a couple, or for business, when in Lancaster City, visit the Central Market – the oldest farmer’s market of its kind in the country.  The redbrick building offers an abundance of delicious regional food specialties, as well as homemade crafts, wares, and souvenirs.  Lancaster’s Central Market was voted in the top ten fresh markets of the world, and it is one of the best places to pick up local delicacies like home-made jellies, relishes and chow-chow.
